After coming off a national title, Valpo hosted the 2017 Robotic Football National Championship. Valpo entered the season undefeated in all competitions.  Valpo started off the season well with a win over Notre Dame in the fall, and 3rd place in the Combine. Valpo also beat Ohio Northern 37-14 in the Semifinal of the playoffs. However Valpo could not secure the National Championship again and lost to Notre and their agile running back in the final.
