Frequently Asked Questions
Why CO2?
Carbon dioxide is an effective fire suppression agent applicable to a wide range of fire hazards. It works quickly, with no residual clean-up, resulting in minimal damage and downtime.
Is CO2 toxic?
CO2 is not toxic to humans. Healthy humans can survive short periods of exposure. Here are room dimensions and their respective safety limit of carbon dioxide:
What level of CO2 is dangerous?
The level of CO2 that is to be released during the cycle is well within OSHA limits. According to NIOSH, the short-term exposure limit for CO2 is 30,000 ppm (54,000 mg/m³). The table above was calculated using this standard.
Can the housing container catch fire if exposed to the open flame?
The system will burn if exposed to an open flame but will not continue to burn if the flame is removed. The housing is rated at UL94V-0, a flammability standard for plastics. The standard states that, “burning stops within 10 seconds on a vertical specimen; drips of particles allowed as long as they are not inflamed.”
How do I replace the suppressant supply?
The tank is a universally supplied container meaning that it can be exchanged or refilled at a local gas supplier.
How do I maintain the system?
The system is designed to be affordable with long lasting parts. Replacement parts can be acquired from other third party vendors. Contact Us for maintenance tips.
