2nd Grade

The 2nd grade program will be in the March.

NOTE: Due to COVID-19, programs in 20/21 will look different. Instead of grade level programs, each class will do a mini performance demonstrating concepts they are learning in music. This will take place in class and will be recorded and emailed to parents to enjoy.

In music students move, speak, sing, dance, play musical games, read notation, and play instruments. Each month new concepts are introduced while reviewing previously learned material.

November- Rhythm dictation with half notes, playing a melody on xylophones

October- Introduce half notes, playing multiple parts on instruments

September- Beat versus rhythm, dynamics, so-mi- la, review of quarter notes, eighth notes, and quarter rests.

August- Rules and expectations

While you are singing along to your favorite songs, clap the beat or rhythm with your child. Have them identify which one they are clapping.
