New York State Identification Test of English Language Learners:

(NYSITELL)- The NYSITELL is given to students to determine if they are entitled to be in the English as a New Language Program. This is administered to students when they first enroll in school or return to school after living in another non-English speaking country for 2 years or more.

New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test:

(NYSESLAT)- The NYSESLAT is given to students in the English as a New Language Program every spring to assess their English language proficiency. This school year the speaking component of the test will be administered ​in April. In addition, the listening, reading, and writing components of the test will be administered on May.
