Assessments
New York State Identification Test of English Language Learners:
(NYSITELL)- The NYSITELL is given to students to determine if they are entitled to be in the English as a New Language Program. This is administered to students when they first enroll in school or return to school after living in another non-English speaking country for 2 years or more.
New York State English as a Second Language Achievement Test:
(NYSESLAT)- The NYSESLAT is given to students in the English as a New Language Program every spring to assess their English language proficiency. This school year the speaking component of the test will be administered in April. In addition, the listening, reading, and writing components of the test will be administered on May.
