All students will use technology in the classroom. Students will be using Chromebooks and iPads to learn how to respect and interact with our technological equipment, and how to be good digital citizens.
We practice digital tech, and keyboarding skills. We use Google Classroom to complete some assignments and assessments, everything is kept digitally. FYI - this creates LESS class papers lost and LESS class papers will be sent home.
During the school year, students take district and state assessments on the computer systems. They need to be comfortable with technology to show what they know and be able to do their personal best on assessments.

PARENT/GUARDIAN INFORMATION:
What is Google Classroom? Google Classroom is part of the Google Suite where teachers can set up subject areas with assignments for students to complete in an interactive and technological manner. Teachers can also upload reteach videos or directions, for students, who may have been absent or missed a part of the original lesson. Students then complete the assignment, class work, or assessment, through Google using their Chromebook. When they turn it in, it is turned in electronically to the teacher and all work is organized in Google Classroom, so students are not able to lose their assignments or assessments. If a students needs to redo an assignment, or assessment, it can easily be reassigned to the student. Parents will be able to view all the classes their student is in and what they are doing through Google Classroom. Please note, not all class assignments or assessments are in Google Classroom, we also do paper/pencil assignments and assessments, too. Students who are absent for an extended time period, who have access to the internet, can also keep working on class assignments through Google Classroom, as an option. Overall, it has been beneficial to student engagement, growth mindset, and confidence in learning.
