Curious about why a Chromebook was reset to factory settings? [Click here for more information.]
If you see a "Welcome to your Chromebook" screen, it means the device has most likely been reset to its factory settings. While this may seem concerning at first, there's no need to worry—this is something that can be resolved quickly.
To get your classroom Chromebook back up and running, simply follow the steps below to reconnect it to the VUSD Google system and restore student access.
Select your language and keyboard layout①, then click [Get started]②.
If you hear a voice prompt “Do you want to activate ChromeVox”, select Yes or No. ChromeVox is a screen reader, which enables people with visual impairments to use the Chrome operating system.
Choose the VUSD-Guest network③
Type the network password④, then select [Connect]⑤.
After connecting to the internet, select [Enterprise enrollment]⑥ and select [Next]⑦
Enter the VUSD Re-Enroll account under "Enter your email": "Reenroll@vacavilleusd.org" and select [Next]
Enter the password: Vacaville123 and select [Next]
Your Chromebook will re-enroll into the VUSD Google Database
When the device information page appears, click [Next].
You do not have to worry about filling in the Asset Identifier or the Device Location. Generally, those should fill automatically.
When Enterprise enrollment is complete, students can log back in with their S-number and continue on with their work.
