Sight Words- Sight Words will be done with students on levels A-K. Sight words will be on flash cards and students will have one minute to read through as many words as they can. At the end of the minute tutors will go over any missed or unknown words and record on the lesson plan.
Dyad Reading- Tutor and student will read a book together following the Dyad reading style. Tutor will stop to talk about unknown words and to check student's comprehension of the text. When the reading time is up, tutor will check student's comprehension again and mark accordingly on the lesson plan.
Fluency- Student will read a new fluency passage each time they attend a tutoring session. Student will be timed for one minute on his/her level and tutor will keep track of words missed. At the end of the minute tutor will go over words missed and chart words read correct and words missed on lesson plan and oral fluency chart. Student must pass fluency level 3 times with good comprehension to advance to the next level.
Optional Literacy Skill Building Activities- Additional skill building activities may be implemented into lesson plan as fit for student's individual needs and additional resources needed.
