Spring 2022 | Virtual Exhibitions
Spring 2022 | Virtual Exhibitions
Throughout the Spring of 2022, the students in Introduction to Museum Studies course at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse worked in collaboratively to curate a virtual exhibition drawn from the collections of La Crosse County Historical Society.
To prepare for the assignment, students learned about the theories and practices of museums in both historical and contemporary contexts, studying museum mission statements, collection practices, exhibition strategies, and educational programs.
Students visited the La Crosse County Historical Society to interact with historical objects in their collection. To provide a broader perspective, students visited the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and also spoke with guest speakers working around the country, including curators, digital engagement specialists, and educators.
A special thank you to Amy Vach and Peggy Derrick at the La Crosse County Historical Society for hosting our class.
We encourage you to explore the virtual exhibitions below!
