Dear members of the UWC Dilijan community,
Welcome to our Remote Learning site. Please see the page links at the top for information specific to different areas that also contain some helpful information for parents and guardians. We will continue to update these pages as we move forwards into the new term.
At this point, at the end of the school year 2020-2021, we have been very lucky to have been able to hold face to face classes nearly continuously, with the exception of our two arrival quarantines. The downside has been that we have been in voluntary lockdown throughout the year, even though we could establish a routine of supervised sports and outdoor activities, as well as some 'safe' restaurant visits in such a way that we managed to avoid cont
we have nearly 192 out of 228 students on campus. Many of these are still in quarantine, so our classes have started online, even though we are only meters apart. Social distancing is observed everywhere on campus, and in general students are following rules carefully as we are all aware of the risks. From September 15th schools in Armenia will be opening again, and from then we will allowed to have small groups of students in the classrooms, no larger than 10. This means that we will be following a timetable for classes very similar to what we would have had under normal circumstances, with the difference that all lessons will be recorded and can be followed online if necessary. For example, half a class might meet face to face for some practical work in one lesson, and in the next lesson it would be the other half's turn. Each small group would do follow ups work in the 'remote' lesson.
On this website we will put together the information needed for each year group, adding as we go. There are also some useful links, as well as a guide to 'online learning etiquette'.
Although we all hope to be physically together again, we have learned much over the last months and are confident that we can create a meaningful UWC experience remotely that is very close to what we had before the pandemic. Our students have been doing an amazing job in every respect, and at the end of our 'quarentation' we are now ready to start lessons with the DP1 students.
Stay safe!
