The UWC Astronomy Group is active across a broad range of cutting-edge topics in observational and theoretical cosmology, with a strong emphasis on galaxy evolution in the era of large radio surveys. Much of our work is driven by data from MeerKAT, South Africa’s flagship radio telescope, and closely aligned with the goals of the Square Kilometre Array (SKA).
We play a leading role in the Centre for Radio Cosmology (CRC) and are core partners in the Inter-University Institute for Data Intensive Astronomy (IDIA). Our research combines deep expertise in physical modelling with modern machine learning techniques, enabling us to extract scientific insight from complex, high-dimensional datasets.
We publish regularly in leading international journals. Click here for an ADS link to our Group's publications.
