My strategy for community engagement was refined during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown rules such that I had to adjust the planned school visits. Despite the limitations on public gatherings, I have sort to engage the community at (1) the level of new students joining the university, (2) articles targeted at the general public, (3) radio interviews, and (4) community-driven awareness programmes in response to COVID-19.

Talk at UWC 2019 open day about “What is Bioinformatics”. This to inform students and the public about careers in data driven science and the role Bioinformatics have played in understanding diseases.
