Seattle is serviced by the Sea-Tac Airport (SEA), which hosts flights on all major airlines. We highly recommend using the Link light rail (information below) to commute between Sea-Tac and all conference locations. This is a 1.5 hour commute!
Arrival: If you would like to attend the lab tours, you should plan on arriving at Sea-Tac before 1:30 pm on Friday, January 18. If you would like to go straight to the Welcome Address, you should plan on arriving at Sea-Tac before 4 pm. If you are hungry upon arrival, we recommend eating before exiting the terminal (it's still a long commute).
Departure: Sea-Tac is a busy major international airport. It is recommended to arrive 2 hours early for domestic flights! If you plan to stay through the Closing Comments, you should plan on a flight leaving no earlier than 4:30 pm on Sunday, January 20.
Seattle is serviced by Greyhound Buses. To get to the conference from the bus station, we recommend the use of the Link Light Rail (see below for more information). Both of the Greyhound bus stops are conveniently located less than a 5 min walk to Link Light Rail stops.
Seattle is serviced by Amtrak. To get to the conference from the train station, we recommend the use of the Link Light Rail (see below for more information). The train station is conveniently located less than a 5 min walk to the International District Link Light Rail stop.
For participants from the greater Seattle area and for travel within the city, we recommend utilizing the King County Metro. Google Maps can provide the most convenient routes. The iPhone app OneBusAway can be used to get up-to-date information about bus arrival times. Bus and Light rail fares can be found on the King County Metro Website.
We highly recommend using the Link light rail to travel to the UW from the airport/train/long-distance bus. Light rail tickets can be purchased at each station before entering the light rail. The University of Washington Station is the last stop and is ~15 min walk to all conference locations.
If you are going straight to the hotel upon arrival, we will provide transportation from the University of Washington Link station to the hotels.
