The application for CUWiP 2019 are now closed. Invitations to register will be sent in early November!

Any undergraduate student at a US institution is invited to apply to attend an APS CUWiP. Apply to the site location determined by your region (as illustrated in the image below). The CUWiP at the University of Washington services the Northwest region including the states of Washington, Oregon, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Alaska, and Idaho (students from Idaho may also attend the Utah State CUWiP).

Students in Canada are encouraged to apply to the Canadian CUWiP at the University of Ottawa. Limited spaces are available at CUWiP at the University of Washington for Canadian students who are geographically close to Seattle. Canadian students may not be eligible for reimbursement of travel expenses or a registration fee waiver. If you attend a non-U.S. university and would like to apply to CUWiP at the University of Washington, please use our internal CUWiP application. Applicants who are under 18 years of age should also apply through our internal CUWiP application.

Note that the application and registration are different! After application, accepted students will receive an email inviting them to register. Please see the timeline below.

Note that there is a $45 registration fee that will be due upon registration. This fee can be waived. For more information, see the "Application and Registration" section of the FAQ tab.

To attend an APS CUWiP conference, interested undergraduates must apply to their designated site. Once they are accepted, they must register to confirm their spot. The timeline is as follows:

September 3 - October 12, 2018 ~ APS Application is open

Early November 2018 ~ Accepted students are contacted and invited to register

November 16, 2018 ~ Deadline for students to register

Late November 2018 ~ Previously wait-listed students are contacted and invited to register

November 30, 2018 ~ Deadline for previously wait-listed students to register

December 14, 2018 ~ Participants make travel arrangements (see the Travel tab). All travel arrangements must be cleared by on-site organizers. We can be contacted at uw.cuwip2019@gmail.com.

January 14 - 17, 2019 ~ More detailed, site-specific information is distributed to all participants

January 18 - 20, 2019 ~ Attendees gather at the University of Washington for the APS CUWiP at UW!

January 25, 2019 ~ Deadline for CUWiP reimbursement of travel costs (if applicable)
