Location AND lODGING

Conference Site

The University of Washington (UW) is located in Seattle, Washington in the Pacific Time Zone (PST).

The UW CUWiP will be held in the UW Intellectual House*, Physics-Astronomy Building (PAB), Physics-Astronomy Auditorium (PAA), Husky Union Building (HUB), and Kane Hall. All of these locations are search-able on Google Maps.

All locations are within walking distance of each other and participants will be expected to walk between event locations. Keep in mind that the winter in Seattle may be cool and rainy, so come prepared with warm clothes and rain gear! If you have accessibility concerns, contact the organizers at uw.cuwip2019@gmail.com to arrange transportation.

All meals will be provided during the conference from dinner on Friday, January 18th to lunch on Sunday, January 20th. If you find yourself in need of additional meals or coffee near campus, we recommend any of the restaurants on University Way NE ("The Ave").

The map at the bottom of this page shows conference buildings (with purple stars), hotels (with a green bed), the UW light rail station (with a blue bike), our favorite coffee/restaurants (with red icons).

*The traditional name for wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ – Intellectual House comes from the Luhshootseed language and is phonetically pronounced “wah-sheb-altuh."

Due to the close proximity, attendees will be expected to walk from their lodging location to conference locations. Parking is included at the hotels. Do not drive to campus if you are staying at the hotels. If you have accessibility concerns, contact the organizers at uw.cuwip2019@gmail.com to arrange transportation.
