Week 2

Ventricular Anatomy and Function

During the second week, we will focus on the assessment of ventricular systolic function, and hemodynamic assessment.

Day 1: Left Ventricular Systolic Function

  • Perform comprehensive TEE exam(s) in the OR under faculty or fellow supervision
  • Assigned reading: Chapter 7 "Systolic Left Ventricular Function" p. 101-123

Day 2: Right Ventricular Systolic Function

  • Perform comprehensive TEE exam(s) in the OR under faculty or fellow supervision

Day 3: Hemodynamic Assessment

  • Perform comprehensive TEE exam(s) in the OR under faculty or fellow supervision
  • Review ORCA TEE template
  • Write ORCA TEE reports for the studies performed under faculty supervision
