FSI language courses were developed by Foreign Service Institute – U. S. Department of State using the FAST methodology (Familiarization & Short-Term Training). There are 6 different courses of Spanish available. FSI Basic Spanish covers the essentials comprehensively, and includes textbooks and audio recordings. Other courses include FSI Spanish Fast Course, Spanish Programmatic Course in two volumes, and three location-specific courses called FSI Spanish Headstart for Latin America Course/Spain/Puerto Rico.
