1. Video Requirements & Slate (20 points)

Excellent (20 pts):
The video is approximately 3 minutes long and includes a clear slate at the beginning with the student’s name, class, instrument/voice, and title/composer of the piece.

Proficient (15 pts):
The video meets most requirements, but the slate or length is missing one small detail.  No slate and/or less than 3 minutes long.

Developing (10 pts):
Several required elements are missing or unclear. No slate and/or less than 2 minutes.

Beginning (0–5 pts):
Major required elements are missing.  No slate and/or less than 1 minute.

2. Evidence of Progress (50 points)

Excellent (50 pts):
The performance clearly demonstrates meaningful progress over the semester, showing growth in confidence, continuity, and overall development compared to earlier work.

Proficient (40 pts):
Some progress and improvement are evident.

Developing (30 pts):
Limited progress is evident, but the assignment was attempted.

Beginning (0–20 pts):
Little or no evidence of progress, or the performance is incomplete.

3. Effort & Preparation (20 points)

Excellent (20 pts):
The performance demonstrates strong effort and preparation.

Proficient (15 pts):
The performance shows reasonable effort.

Developing (10 pts):
Preparation appears minimal.

Beginning (0–5 pts):
Little evidence of effort or preparation.

4. Video Presentation (10 points)

Excellent (10 pts):
The student is clearly visible and audible, with minimal distractions.

Proficient (8 pts):
Mostly clear, with a few distractions.

Developing (5 pts):
Audio or video issues occasionally interfere with evaluation.

Beginning (0–4 pts):
Poor audio/video quality significantly limits evaluation.
