Materials Division
The Materials and Asset Management Division is lead by the Region Materials Engineer. They are responsible to uphold the standard of quality for all materials that are placed into our roadways. As part of this assignment, they approve material selection, provide quality assurance testing, do independent assurance certifications, provide material certifications for project closeouts, create pavement designs, help RE’s and AS’s with material issues, and provide training to construction and trans tech personnel. We see everyone as our customer.
The Asset Management Division analyzes all the regions roadway features and recommends treatment and preservation strategies. They coordinate the collection and evaluation the regions roadway distress data. They coordinate with UDOT’s Central Asset Management Division to align modeling and cost/benefit choices with the Region’s needs to perform roadway preservation. They are responsible to evaluate pavement condition and design pavement alternatives for every project in the Region.
