How to use this template

Make a copy using a Google account

• Google Docs is free to use with a Google account. If you don't already have one, sign up for an account. 

• Log in to your account Google account, then make a copy of the letter using this link.

Customize the information

• Add your water system’s information to the letter body and sidebar where indicated.

Adding a website link (make it short!)

Link to your website where customers can find the survey, or create a short link directly to your survey. 

Customers prefer short links over long ones because they are easier to type into a browser.

Example: YourWaterSystem.com/survey

    Use Bitly.com to create a short URL for your long survey URL for free.
    Note: bitly short links are case sensitive. 

How to make a QR code

• Go here to make a free QR code image you can insert into the letter.

• QR codes make it easier for customers to navigate to a page. 

• If you use a QR code, you should include the short link next to it in case customers can't scan the code, or don't want to scan it. 

Inserting an image (logo and/or QR code)

• Delete the placeholder objects and then insert an image with Insert > Image.

• Use the image formatting option called "break text" to make image alignment easier (see screenshot below).

Print

Print your letter once it's finalized with File > Print.
