Through my experience of this subject for the 1st term of this school year, I can say that I have learned a lot about the history of architecture and ancient to medieval civilizations. At the start of the semester, I am not familiar with many lessons because only a few were taught at my previous school. I learned a lot of new words and could recognize the location of structures better. I learned how architecture developed from people’s environment; and how they influenced each other. I learned more about famous personages in different times and locations. I like the activities where we get to research more about the architecture of some countries and communities. For this, we get to dig deeper for knowledge of these architectural styles. Not only do we learn more from researching topics, but also; unleash our creativity by illustrating examples of these structures. I find it very fun to draw and color these structures because the results are very pleasing to the eyes. I’m hoping to have more activities like these in the future. I noticed that most lectures were more closed to locations around Europe, so I wish to learn more about ancient civilizations of other continents like Asia, Australia, and other parts of Africa.
