Undergraduate Operations and Student Engagement
The SOM UG Office oversees operations and initiatives that enhance the undergraduate student experience and meet the missions of both the University and the School of Management. We work collaboratively to develop and administer programs and initiatives that increase student engagement and retention.
Oversees day-to-day operations and supervises full-time OPE staff and student staff for the UG Office.
Provides supplementary academic advising during peak periods and as needed. Additionally, Simone and Anne each are assigned as primary adviser to one-third of the incoming first-year students.
Manages annual undergraduate operations budget and maintains fiscal responsibility.
Coordinates academic undergraduate events supported and/or initiated by the SOM UG Office including all aspects of the Dean's Awards ceremony every fall and spring (program, script, staging, catering, awards, invitations, and coordination of participants).
Oversees and maintains the integrity of the Dean’s Honor Roll every semester for both traditional undergraduates (BSBA) and Professional Bachelor's Degree program (BSM/BAM) students.
Collaborates with faculty, student clubs, and campus partners on events and initiatives to enhance the overall undergraduate student co-curricular and student support experience.
Acts as a resource/administrative adviser to student leaders and clubs within the School of Management.
Supports and implements School policies, procedures, and programs that contribute to student success and equity.
Organizes and oversees the application processes for scholarship opportunities including Financial Women of San Francisco (FWSF) and SOM's internal scholarships (Batton and Balzer).
Maintains the integrity of published materials including academic/curricular handouts, SOM Undergraduate Studies web pages, and SOM's graduation program.
Oversees the vision and production of all social media and web-related projects, a bi-weekly newsletter (The Buzz), content for the six digital screens in the Malloy Hall lobby, and other communication that enhances the overall undergraduate student experience and delivery of services.
Oversees all operational and content-related aspects for BSBA new student orientations (Orientation to Your Major, two per year).
Serves on the Graduation Committee and collaborates with the Graduation Center on the School of Management undergraduate commencement ceremonies (three per year).
Coaches the undergraduate commencement speakers on the presentation and content of their address.
Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of SOM UG commencement programs and coordinates faculty and student participation in the ceremony.
Develops the scripts for Webtrack (in collaboration with department chairs and the Director of Advising).
Produces the videos for each School of Management major.
