Mission
The mission, or purpose, of Camp Abilities Utah is to empower children and teens with visual impairments to be physically active and productive members of their schools, towns, cities, and communities, as well as to improve the health and well-being of people with sensory impairments.
Currently, there are 29 Camp Abilities across the United States and the World! Efforts are also under way to create new camps!!
Camp Abilities Utah is a rigorous overnight Educational Summer Sports Camp for youth with visual impairments.
AGES: 10-21 yrs old
Overnight for 3 nights 4 days @Ogden USDB campus
Day only option (9am-4pm) available
Campers will sleep in the Ogden Campus Residential Buildings and all activities will be on the USDB Campus and in the Ogden Area
There is no fee for this camp
No transportation provided to and from camp
Students learn blind-specific, P.E., and recreational sports
Targeted social interaction skill building opportunities in a supported environment
Targeted independent living skills practice in a supported environment
Exposure to sports and recreation organizations in Utah
Students make a connection to active choices and healthy lifestyles
Students establish friendships with visually impaired peers in Utah
