Expanded Core Services Travel Programs
Expanded Core Services Travel Programs
Our travel programs are based on the Expanded Core Curriculum for students with Vision Impairments. The coursework, itinerary and supplementary activities are directly connected with students developing and refining their Expanded Core skills. We use the 9-12+ Competency Rubric (which also addresses the USBE Portrait of a Graduate competencies) and sections of the TSBVI EXIT Assessment as our assessment tools.
The Expanded Core Services Team offers two travel opportunities:
Epic Road Trip is designed for students enrolled in high school classrooms receiving instruction in the Essential Elements and IEP driven post-high programs who need to master the foundational skills needed to be a traveler. Students will have a modified and supported application process and coursework, and a flexible travel schedule.
Stateside Adventure Program is designed for high school students 9-12 that are enrolled in general education classes and who have demonstrated mastery of foundational travel skills. Students will access rigorous coursework with accommodations and experience a more intense travel schedule.
