Expanded Core Services Travel Programs
Expanded Core Services Travel Programs
Our travel programs are based on the Expanded Core Curriculum for students with Vision Impairments. The coursework, itinerary and supplementary activities are directly connected with students developing and refining their Expanded Core skills. We use the 9-12+ Competency Rubric (which also addresses the USBE Portrait of a Graduate competencies) and sections of the TSBVI EXIT Assessment as our assessment tools.
The Expanded Core Services Team offers two travel opportunities. Epic Road Trip is designed for students who need to master the foundation skills needed to be a traveler as well as students who need modified coursework.
Stateside Adventure Program is designed for students who have demonstrated mastery of foundational travel skills and can access rigorous coursework with accommodations.
Epic Road Trip 2025

This is the first year for this travel program and it is designed to be an introductory and supported travel program for students that teaches the essential elements of travel.
The Expanded Core Services Team is partnering with USB Bridges High School and the Idaho School for the Blind for this trip. Travel dates will be April 21-24, 2025 and we will travel to the Idaho School for the Blind in Gooding, Idaho. Students will spend 3 nights and 4 days away from home.
Stateside Adventure 2025
We are excited for our Expanded Core travel program, Stateside Adventure! Our travel programs are robust, comprehensive programs that address the Expanded Core curriculum in meaningful ways. We have enjoyed watching students develop, refine and grow their skills in our travel program series.
