Postcards for Ghana

LHS students wrote over 100 postcards and notecards for students in Ghana, we are making global connections! Thanks so much to Bert Nash, Watkins Museum, and Explore Lawrence for donating the cards! Also thanks to Monarch Watch and KU for donating stickers and other small gifts to give out in classrooms.

Advice from a Chesty Lion alum

I had the great fortune of running into a former student, Anti, at LHS this week. Her family is from Kumasi, the city where I will be doing my school exchange! She told me that the Kejetia Market (the largest of its kind in West Africa) is amazing. I can't wait to visit!

I have arrived at the new Kansas City airport, which opened just four days ago! It is really nice and light and they even have great coffee! ☕️ I am so excited to start this journey with Lil' Chesty 🦁. My first flight is today at 12:47 p.m. and I will arrive in Ghana at 8:45 a.m. tomorrow Central time , but it will be 2:45 p.m. in Accra.

I hope to be able to update the blog daily, fingers crossed that my data or wifi access allow for that! If not, I will upload a bunch a posts when I can. See you on the flipside (of the Atlantic! ) ✈️
