Consider the following before selecting courses:
choose at least 3 HL subjects
select subjects from 6 different subject groups
A Group 6 subject can be replaced with a subject from another group
Differences Between Standard Level (SL) and Higher Level (HL) courses:
HL courses are more challenging and require more time.
Students in HL classes are required to display a greater depth of understanding during IB assessment, and there are usually more assessments in an HL class.
Some SL classes are offered in one year, but all HL classes span two years (junior and senior years).
Students are encouraged to enroll in HL classes that cater to their academic strengths.
Students must enroll in at least three HL courses.
All scores of 4 or better in IB courses (HL or SL) will transfer as credit at Kansas Board of Regents universities.
