The IB diploma is awarded by the International Baccalaureate Organization to candidates who successfully meet programme requirements. The award is unrelated to a student's WRHS diploma.
Complete courses and assessments in 6 subject areas (Group 6 courses may be replaced by a course from another subject group)
A maximum of 2 SL courses may be completed junior year
All HL and remaining SL courses are completed senior year
Candidates must earn 24 points to earn the diploma and successfully complete the following:
Theory of Knowledge
CAS
Extended Essay
Up to 3 points can be earned by scoring well on TOK assessments and the extended essay
There is no “N” awarded for TOK, the EE or for a contributing subject
The candidate did not earn an "E" in either TOK or the EE
There is no grade 1 awarded in a subject
There are no more than two grade 2s awarded (HL or SL)
There are no more than three grade 3s or below awarded (HL or SL)
The candidate has gained 12 points or more in HL subjects (for candidates who register for four HL subjects, the three highest grades count)
The candidate has earned 9 points or more in SL subjects
The candidate has not received a penalty for academic misconduct
7 - Excellent
6 - Very Good
5 - Good
4 - Satisfactory (college credit at KBOR universities)
3 - Mediocre
2 - Poor
1 - Very Poor
