KSDE Required Training
Auburn-Washburn values safe working and learning environments for our students and staff. KSDE shares these values and requires a comprehensive program of safety and security training modules be completed on an annual basis.
Because as a district we believe it is important to ensure consistent methods and approaches to protecting students and staff members, we are implementing a system of video-based modules to provide training on these important topics. This allows for consistent message delivery while providing teachers flexibility to complete the trainings as convenient for their schedules.
Required Training Topics
Faculty and staff are required to participate in annual training on the following topics:
Bullying Awareness and Prevention
Sexual Harassment (Title IX)
Suicide Prevention and Awareness (Jason Flatt Act, minimum of 60 minutes)
Preventing Abuse and Mandated Reporting
Bloodborne Pathogens
Education for the Homeless
Emergency Safety Interventions
All certified staff are assigned modules that meet these requirements through the Vector online platform. Staff will begin receiving emails to complete these trainings beginning August 8, 2024.
Accessing Online Training
Review the "Completing KSDE Mandated Training Sessions Guide" below for step-by-step guidance to access and complete your courses. A link to Classlink Launchpad is also provided for your convenience.
All training is completed through the Vector system. To access Vector training modules, access the Auburn-Washburn Classlink site, and click "Sign in with Google." If you do not click "Sign in with Google," you will not be able to access the training videos.
Online training modules are completed individually, and each training module requires completion of a quiz. Training is complete once the module's content has been viewed and the quiz has been passed at an 80% or higher.

Professional Flexibility and Due Dates
We value professionals' time and work to provide meaningful in-person professional development aligned with teaching and learning needs. To avoid creating burdens on personal time or existing in-person professional development needs, we provide staff two choices on how they may complete the training modules.
Option 1: Complete the required training modules on the afternoon of the November 26, 2024 professional learning day.
The afternoon of November 26, 2024 is provided for the purpose of completing these annual training requirements, and certified staff are welcome to work on-site at their buildings to complete the training modules.
All modules must be completed by November 26, 2024.
Option 2: Complete the required training modules at your convenience before the end of the day October 31, 2024. Then, flex the afternoon of November 26, 2024.
As desired, certified staff may complete the required modules as convenient, as they are all delivered through the Vector online platform. If the modules are completed by October 31, 2024, then certified staff are able to flex the afternoon of November 26, 2024.
To be eligible for flex time, all of the required training modules must be successfully completed by the deadline.
Reports will be sent to building principals the week of November 4, 2024.
