Professional Development Plan
Every five years, Auburn-Washburn USD 437 develops and submits a revised Staff Development Handbook to the Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) for approval. This handbook governs both the vision of professional learning as well as its operationalization.
This was approved by the Kansas State Board of Education in June 2025.

Negotiated Agreement
The Negotiated Agreement is developed and approved annually through collaboration between teachers and administrators. Policies in the Negotiated Agreement are primarily focused on salary movement, conference attendance, and identification of professional learning needs.

KSDE Regulations
The Kansas State Department of Education works to implement policy from the Kansas State Board of Education and the Kansas Legislature. Both of those governing bodies have established laws, regulations, and guidance for implementation of professional learning.
