Kristi Tucker 

I’m excited to begin my 10th year of teaching and 5th year at Ellinwood Grade School! Before becoming a Special Education teacher, I taught 4th grade and Kindergarten, and I’m grateful that my career has brought me back to the school and community where I grew up. There’s something really special about getting to teach in the same community that helped shape me!

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education from Fort Hays State University in 2016 and my ESOL Endorsement from Newman University in 2023. This past December, I earned my Master of Science in High-Incidence Special Education from Fort Hays State University. Go Tigers! I love working with students, celebrating their strengths, and helping them build confidence as learners. I’m excited for another year of learning, growing, and cheering my students on!

Outside of school, I’m married to Dakota, and we have a three-year-old son, two Golden Retrievers, and a cat. Our family loves new adventures, traveling, and spending time together. We’re also big sports fans and can often be found cheering on Barton, K-State, the Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas City Chiefs. I’m so thankful to call Ellinwood home and look forward to another great year at EGS!
