For this project, two images were edited using Adobe Photoshop CC software.

Image 1 was first layered with a teal background. The eyedropper tool was used to color match the chalk used in the word "Marshall". Next, the image was cropped to remove unwanted portions of the image at the top and the bottom. The image was sized to be 8"x8". Then, the lasso tool was used to select the outline of the "K", including the child's image. This selection was inverse selected, so that a filter could be applied to the outer section of the "K". A rough pastel filter (50% scaling) was applied to the area around the "K". Finally, the soft, round blur tool was used to soften the edge between the image and the teal background layer.

Image 2 is an original photograph of a sunflower, taken in my backyard. The image was placed on a larger canvas with a black background. The lasso tool was used to inverse-select the flower and a black and white mask was used to change the sky color. Text layers were added over the black canvas and the font color was matched to the sunflower petal, using the color dropper tool. Finally, the color of the flower petals was increased in both brightness and contrast to make it stand out more.
