Catherine and Homer Thomason Nursing Scholarship
Due: March 21, 2025
When Mrs. Thomason passed away, she wanted to establish a Nursing Scholarship program for Jefferson County. She requested Denison State Bank of Meriden, be the Trustee for this program. This is an Annual Nursing Scholarship that will be awarded to any graduating senior student within ANY Jefferson County High School.
Jefferson County 4-H Foundation Scholarship
Due: March 28, 2025
Seniors and postgraduate students who are still 4-H members are encouraged to apply. The awards can be used for many post-graduation programs, including state universities, community colleges, and technical schools. The 4-H Foundation wants to help as many 4-Hers as possible in their educational pursuits.
High school juniors and sophomores may apply for a 4-H Foundation Scholarship to help defer the tools and equipment costs needed in a specific technical school certificate program. An example would be to help a student purchase tools for WIT Diesel Mechanics or kits needed for Cosmetology education. They may also apply for a scholarship to help with tuition for concurrent high school and college classes.
Jefferson West Booster Club Scholarship
Due: March 24, 2025
As in the past, Jefferson West Booster Club will award up to four (4) $500.00 scholarships to deserving Jefferson West High School seniors. The scholarship is not limited to tuition but may be used to purchase books, pay fees, supplies, or pay other expenses.

Frank & Mabel Koenitzer-Sayles Scholarship
Due: March 28, 2025
The Frank and Mabel Koenitzer-Sayles Foundation is pleased to announce the continuation of competitive scholarships for Jefferson West seniors. Each awardee's scholarship is to be applied toward tuition costs, fees, and university related materials/technology.
Students are encouraged to apply in the spring prior to graduating from Jefferson West. Applications can be secured from Mrs. Jensen. Applicants should show strength of character, enterprise, and personal initiative. Special consideration will be given to those students who establish a financial need and demonstrate unique qualities that depict strong interests in school and the community.
Students must plan to enroll as a full-time student at a Kansas Board of Regents Public Institution or Baker University.

VFW Auxiliary Post 10815 Scholarship
Due: March 31, 2025
Applicants considered shall be graduation high school seniors. Applicants may already be enrolled in college/vocational school.
Students should complete the application, produce a resume and three (3) letters of recommendations.

Jefferson County Educational Extension Unit Scholarships
Due: April 1, 2025
Applicants that are eligible to apply need to be a resident of Jefferson County, be a high school senior or college freshman, have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and do not have to be a 4-H member to apply. One requirement is that they must attend an in-state institution.
To apply for these scholarships, candidates need to complete the enclosed application, submit a transcript of grades, essay and have two letters of recommendation. The scholarship winners will be determined on application, activities, essay and recommendation letters. In-person interviews will not be held this year.

Jefferson County Farm Bureau Association Scholarship
Due: April 1, 2025
The JCFB Association will be awarding two (2) scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each.
Agriculture-related field is preferred, but not mandatory. No membership is required. All seniors who will attend a Kansas college/university or trade school are eligible to apply.

Jefferson West Educator's Association Scholarship
Due: March 21, 2025
The Jefferson West Educator's Association (JWEA) will award a scholarship(s) to a qualified Jefferson West High School graduating senior(s) who is planning to major in education.

Meriden-Ozawkie Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship
Due: March 28, 2025
The Meriden-Ozawkie Chamber of Commerce was founded in 2006. One of the Chamber's first commitments was to support the youth of the community through a $3,000 scholarship for Jefferson West High School seniors. The scholarship is for $750 per year, renewable for up to four years. The scholarship may be applied toward tuition costs, fees, books and housing. Scholarship payments will be made upon proof of enrollment in a qualiified school.
The committee, in keeping with the Chamber mission, will give special consideration to those students who plan to pursue a business career benefitting the local community. A strong employment record or dedication to community service, in addition to continuous academic achievement, will factor in the candidate's favor. Applicants should show evidence of ethics and a potential to succeed professionally.
Statewide Scholarship Opportunities
Build A Better Future Scholarship
Due: April 7th, 2025 by 11pm
Ever wondered just how much of a difference high school students can make in their communities? In our 2024 scholarship program, our past winners proved it can be profound. That's why our 2025 Build A Better Future scholarship will also be a design-thinking community improvement project based on the LAUNCH cycle. We will award $10,000 to five new seniors, with the top recipient receiving an additional $5,000 grant to continue funding their project.
Kansas Masonic Foundation Scholarship Program
Applications Accepted: December 1, 2024 - February 15, 2025
The Kansas Masonic Foundation awards scholarships to Kansas students. Winners are notified in April. There are three different scholarships offered:

Delta Theta Chi Sorority National Memorial Scholarship
Due: February 1st, 2025
Delta Theta Chi Sorority is offering three $1,600 scholarships to students who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and potential for success. Eligible applicants must reside in the United States or it's territories, have a strong scholastic record, and be enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college. Applications, including all required attachments, must be completed and postmarked by February 1, 2025. Recipients will be notified by May 2025.
American Petroleum Institute (API) Scholarship
Due: March 31, 2025
The Western Kansas Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute (API) offers $1,500 annual scholarships, renewable for up to four years, to graduating seniors of the Class of 2025. Scholarships are available for students enrolling in undergraduate programs at accredited colleges or certified trade/vocational schools.
Regular Scholarship:
Parent, guardian, or grandparent employed (or formerly employed) in the oil or gas industry.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Industry Scholarship:
For students pursuing oil/gas-related fields like engineering or geology.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Indicate scholarship type on the application.
Include a high school transcript, ACT scores, and a recent photo.
Post-award, recipients must show proof of full-time enrollment and maintain academic performance. Submit applications to:

True Blue KSHSAA Scholarship
Due: March 3, 2025
In partnership with Capitol Federal Foundation, the KSHSAA will award True Blue Scholarships intended to support Kansas High School graduates in postsecondary efforts. This one-time scholarship is for students graduating during the 2024-2025 school year. These funds will be made payable to a two-year or four-year accredited college, university or technical school in the name of the selected student. Awards are non-renewable, one-time scholarships in the amount of $2,000 provided for a student in each activity administered by the KSHSAA. Kansas Crime Stoppers Assoc. Scholarship
Due: March 21, 2025
We further support the youth of Kansas by offering two high school seniors scholarship of $500. In order to apply for this award a student must be a senior in good standing and on target to graduate from any accredited Kansas high school. The application must include the attached scholarship form as well as a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, Crime Stoppers member or member of law enforcement with knowledge of the character and accomplishments of the student. In addition, the students must include an original (no AI to be used) essay describing their future goals and objectives. A copy of the high school transcript and any relevant post secondary credits is also to be included. A non-returnable photo is requested for media purposes. Quinton Unruh Memorial Grant
Due: March 17, 2025
The Quinton Unruh Memorial Grant awards $10,000 every year to an individual who lives life with passion, kindness, leadership, and integrity. Grant recipients demonstrate excellence in academics, athletics, arts, community involvement, environmental stewardship, entrepreneurial spirit, or spiritual development.
