College & Career Information
Jefferson County Counselors Association hosts this fair in the fall for juniors and seniors at one of the county high schools. The date for 2024 is October 7, 2024. All Juniors will attend, and any interested seniors are allowed to attend. This year's fair will be held at McLouth High School. We will leave via bus from the high school around 1:15 pm and return at approximately 3:15 pm.
On October 8, 2024, Mrs. Jensen will host an all-day event specifically for seniors to get assistance applying for colleges.
Many colleges in Kansas will waive their application fee during this month
Sophomores-Seniors have the opportunity to take two excused days to job shadow a career they have interest in

Juniors are allowed three excused college visit days, and seniors are allowed two
Students must contact Admissions of the college of choice to set up a campus visit day

Sophomores will be bused to Washburn Tech to tour campus and decide if they would like to attend this college during HS
Staff members participated in the #WhyApply campaign day and showed students their reason for applying! Staff also wore clothing to represent their alma mater for the day.
Students participated in #ApplyKS Day! Seniors applied to Kansas schools on this date when all application fees were waived and application was FREE!
