This is a good resource to provide a checklist when getting started with filling out your FAFSA

This worksheet will guide you through the steps of creating your FSA ID and provides a place to document and store this information. The FSA ID is required for accessing Federal Student Aid's online system and serves as your legal signature for the FAFSA. Students and parents should create their own FSA ID using personal information. You will use this ID each year while in college to complete FAFSA and manage your federal student aid.
