*If your child is sent home due to one of these symptoms, they may not return to school until after 24 hours symptom free without the use of medication, unless otherwise indicated by a doctors note.
If you have questions related to your child's attendance or to report an absence please contact the school office. Any day your child is absent please contact the office by 9:00 a.m.
1. Influenza-Must be fever free 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication or 5 days, whichever is longer
2. Lice - Exclude until treated with anti-parasitic shampoo. Live bugs the student is sent home/nits may stay and parents will be notified.
3. Pink eye - Exclude until under treatment by medical doctor for at least 24 hours.
4. Ringworm - Exclude until under medical treatment is received and lesion is to remain covered until healed.
5. Scabies - Exclude until 24 hours after treatment with appropriate anti-parasitic drug.
6. Staphylococcal Infection (Impetigo, boils, carbuncles) Exclude until received medical treatment and the lesion is to remain covered until healed.
7. Streptococcal Infections (Scarlatina, strep throat, scarlet fever) Exclude until 24 hours after medical treatment and 24 hours fever free without the use of fever reducing medication.
8. Vomiting/Diarrhea-K-8 exclude from school until 24 hours after the last episode. 9-12 grades exclusion at the determination of administration/nurse.
9. Bed Bugs-No exclusion is required. Treatment of the home is highly recommended.
10. Impetigo - Exclusion until 24 hours after the initial dose of prescribed medication and lesion is to remain covered.
11. Mono (mononucleosis or epstein barr virus)-No exclusion required. Recommended to avoid strenuous activity and contact sports for three to four weeks after the onset of symptoms or per the medical provider's order.
12. Hand, Foot, and Mouth-Must be fever free 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.
13. Fifth Disease-Must be fever free 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication.
