6th Grade
Band students going in to 6th grade will need Tradition of Excellence Book 1 (should have from 5th grade) and Tradition of Excellence Book 2 for their instrument. They will also need to have a pencil (or three) to keep in their band folder in the band room.

7th & 8th Grade
7th & 8th Grade
Band students will need to have a flip folder (holds marching band music) and lyre (holds flip folder on instrument) for their instrument in 7th and 8th grade.
- Clarinets, trumpets, saxophones, French horns, and baritones/euphoniums have a separate lyre and flip folder. Baritone/euphonium players - please ask the teacher what kind of lyre you need before you get one (there are many kinds, but only a certain type will work for your instrument).
- Flutes and trombones have combination lyre/flip folders.
- Tuba players need only a flip folder.
- Percussionists are not required to purchase a lyre/flip folder.
They will also need to purchase the gray Sabetha Band t-shirt that goes on sale at the beginning of every school year. We wear this shirt at athletic performances.

High school band students will continue to use lyres, flip folders, and the gray Sabetha Band t-shirt.
They will also need to purchase this year's band shirt (t-shirt, long sleeve, hoodie, and/or jacket).
Students also need to have a pair of black Drillmasters Marching Shoes; the school owns several pairs that they are free to borrow, but if they'd like to have their own, you're free to purchase your own pair.
Students also need to have at least one pair of LONG black socks to wear with their marching band uniform.
