I graduated in Biochemistry from the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Toledo, 2018). During my bachelor´s thesis, I studied the antioxidant effect of the main polyphenol of extra virgin olive oil in an in vitro model of Alzheimer´s disease, with the assistance of Prof. Emma Burgos and Prof. Óscar Gómez (Department of Biochemistry, University of Castilla-La Mancha).
Also, I collaborated for two months with the Neuroimmuno-Repair group led by Prof. Diego Clemente at the “Hospital Nacional de Parapléjicos” (Toledo). I studied myeloid suppressor cells as biomarkers of multiple sclerosis and the role of leptin in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.
I got a nine-month grant as a laboratory technician in a dairy industry in the Science Park of the University of Salamanca. Moreover, I enjoyed a five-month fellowship in the Targeted Tumor Vaccines laboratory led by Prof. Ángel Cid-Arregui in German Cancer Research Center (Heidelberg, Germany). I learned the adoptive immunotherapy with T-CAR and TCR for cervical cancer.
Later, I studied a Neuroscience master at the University of Salamanca. During my master´s degree, I researched the effect of the brain microenvironment on lung cancer metastases in the brain by the hand of Prof. Arantxa Tabernero and Maruan Hijazi.
Nowadays, I have obtained a PhD contract funded by Science Ministry of Spain in the Signal transduction and proteomics laboratory led by Prof. Maruan Hijazi (University of Salamanca - Neuroscience Institute of Castilla y León). I am researching PI3K and MAPK kinase inhibitors co-treatments for glioblastoma using in vitro and in vivo mouse models.
