Our theme for the 2024-25 school year is Lead with Love. On November 2, 2024, we celebrated our 175th anniversary of educating young women in the spirit of St. Angela Merici, foundress of the Ursuline order. When we study the life of St. Angela we find her to be a woman who lived according to her values. She preached the Gospel, and when necessary she used words. She listened to God’s spirit and allowed her life to be directed by God’s spirit, serving others, and leading with an innovative, courageous, and bold spirit. She listened to the “signs of the times, and advised the members of her community to do the same, “If, according to the times and circumstances, the need arises to make new rules or do something differently, do it prudently and with good advice.” (The Testament of St. Angela).
It is in this spirit that we begin the school year focusing on this theme, Lead with Love. This was inspired by St. Angela’s words and guides us today, reminding us to “Willingly strive to lead with love.” (3rd Counsel)
