Our theme for this school year is, “Seek to Spread Peace.” St. Angela reminds us in her fifth counsel that, “Wherever we are, we should seek to spread peace and concord.”
St. Angela Merici’s advice to "seek to spread peace" isn’t about being passive or ignoring conflicts. St. Angela often reminds us to “get moving,” and spreading peace is just that–an action, a choice to create a space of empathy, understanding, and communication. In a world full of social media drama, academic pressure, and high-tension friendships, spreading peace is an action step to creating a more unified community.
How can you take St. Angela’s advice this school year to spread peace through a kind word, a different approach to a situation, or simply praying about the person or situation that you struggle with? This school year we challenge you to pause, pray, and spread peace to all those you encounter.
