The retreat program challenges students to grow in their faith, with experiences being offered each of their four years. Juniors and Seniors are also called upon to offer valuable peer leadership for the Freshman and Sophomore retreats. The retreats take place throughout the school year.
Freshman & Sophomore retreats are one day experiences and Juniors participate in an overnight retreat. Seniors have the option to take part in Kairos which is a four day/three night experience.
Our retreat program mirrors our Theology curriculum. Freshman Retreat focuses on our relationships with ourselves and God. Sophomore Retreat focuses on our relationships with others and God. Junior Retreat focuses on our relationships with the world and God. And lastly, the Kairos retreat is a culmination of all of the above.
The Freshman Retreat focuses on the truth of each individual's belovedness. In a world where comparison, jealousy, and negative self-talk is all too prevalent, it can be easy to forget the fact that we are made inherently good and inherently loved. Through games, talks, small group discussions, prayer and fellowship, we will seek to root our identity in Christ alone and dispel of the lies that we are not enough.
Monday, March 9, 2026 from 9am-3pm
Location: Ursuline Academy
The Sophomore Retreat focuses on the weight that are words can carry. We will take time to reflect on the labels we place on others and how that can limit us from seeing them as the person God created them to be. We will look to the Gospels for examples of how to live out our call as Christians to love our neighbor. A day of bonding with classmates, small and large group discussions, and reflection, Sophomore Retreat strives to bridge the gaps between our peers and ourselves with the help of God's grace.

The Junior Retreat is an overnight experience with the theme of “See the Light, Be the Light, Share the Light” This retreat invites the students to reflect on the gifts they have and then challenges them to find ways to make a difference by sharing those gifts in their world. This is a service-learning retreat in which the students will participate in service and follow it up with time of reflection and sharing.
Monday, November 10 - Tuesday, November 11.
Location: Kings House Retreat Center
The Kairos Retreat is the Senior Retreat option and it is a 4 day/3 night experience that focuses on the student’s relationship with God, self, and others. Kairos is a Greek term meaning "God's time." This is a four-day, student-led retreat that takes place off campus. The Kairos Retreat is a religious retreat program grounded in the Christian theology of incarnation, our Christian belief that God is very much a part of our real world, especially through the continuing presence of Jesus Christ. Kairos is an experience of a Christian community, with a series of talks given by both peers and adults. Prayer and self-discovery are essential parts of this program as well as the retreatants' involvement in discussions and other exercises.
Our God has always tried to make His love visible and incarnate, as indeed he did in Jesus Christ. The talks of the Kairos program are grounded and centered around the revelation of God's love in our lives and the ideals through which one can grow. In this context, the experience of prayer and values, as well as the growing awareness of and commitment to the spirit of Jesus, allows the retreatant to live her faith in a meaningful way.
