Urbandale School's Nutrition Services serves breakfast and lunch to over 3,000 students through three federally funded programs. These programs are supported and enhanced by several initiatives that aim to increase exposure to both healthy foods and lifestyles. Farm to School is a national program aimed at enriching local communities by connecting schools with local food producers, and enhancing education practices in the classroom. Iowa Farm to School is coordinated by the Iowa Department of Education and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship.

Studies prove kids learn best when they've had breakfast, but not all students are hungry first thing in the morning! Urbandale High School offers students a second chance at breakfast after first period to help kick 9:00 hunger.
