PURSUE Fermilab Account Application
PLEASE fill out the form emailed to you in a timely fashion, no later than April 15, 2024, it can take 4-6 weeks to process!
NOTE: You must have a REAL ID and health insurance to access Fermilab's site, as well as original copies of all required documents.
Marguerite Tonjes will fill out an "Invitation" form which emails you a dedicated link to complete with your information and email you provided to the USCMS PURSUE program. Marguerite will fill out the appropriate dates for site and computing access as well as experiment, Fermilab Point of Contact, etc, and then you will receive an email with a link and subject "Fermilab Invitation Request".
This form is best filled out on a computer, note that you will need to securely upload an image of your RealID, and for non-US citizens provide CV information, do not send this information by email. Be sure to follow instructions emailed to you: automated emails will come from Fermilab Service Desk (fermi@servicenowservices.com) or a person at campusaccess@fnal.gov, and more questions may be emailed to your Institutional Contact from Dee Hahn (your Fermilab Point of Contact) and/or Bo Jayatilaka at Fermilab.
Your institution is your College or University that you are currently enrolled in. For your institutional contact: Please put any faculty member who can verify that you are a student at that institution. A professor you recently took a class from, for instance. Possibly also your academic advisor if your institution has that.
Your Insitutional contact may be emailed a list of questions, the answers are:
Purpose of access: Collaborate with CMS colleagues and learn as part of the USCMS PURSUE internship
Specific activities or involvement specific to the individual: CMS data analysis with USCMS PURSUE internship
Subjects to be discussed: High Energy Physics analysis, computing techniques, detectors for CMS experiment
Specific facilities and security areas to be granted access: CMS LPC cluster and Wilson Hall
Types of information to be accessible: No sensitive information
Access granted to systems: CMS LPC computing cluster
Access mechanisms: Kerberos account, Badge ID
NOTE: If your legal name is different than the one in the form and you are unable to change it using the emailed link, please email campusaccess@fnal.gov to let them know, include your RITM number. You will have the option to define a preferred name as well.
