YEAR 2022
The Pregnant Party held in March 2022 was a well-organized and successful event, bringing together 33 expectant mothers for a morning of education, support, and community. The event took place at the Outpatient Department of the JONELTA Division, Perpetual Help Medical Center in Biñan, Laguna.
The morning began at 8:00 AM with participant registration, assisted by Bachelor of Science in Midwifery students. Vital signs were recorded, and free prenatal check-ups were offered to all attendees. Dr. Rosalie Kolimlim, Dean of the College of Midwifery, welcomed everyone with her opening remarks. This was followed by an informative lecture led by Program Coordinator Professor Juana Dela Cruz, who engaged participants in a discussion on pregnancy and childbearing. Many mothers actively participated, asking questions and sharing their experiences.
To complement the lecture, Midwifery students presented a 10-minute video on prenatal care, enhancing the educational experience. Snacks were served, giving participants a chance to connect with one another. Special guests included Dr. Estrella San Juan, Dean of the College of Nursing, along with her staff and a faculty member specializing in Maternal and Child Nursing.
The event wrapped up by noon, after which each mother received a gift bag containing multivitamins, milk, and baby diapers as a token of appreciation. The day concluded with a group photo to commemorate this meaningful and productive gathering.

Partnering For Future Health: The Department Of Health Pre-Service Scholarship Program For Pharmacy And Mercury Drug Foundation Pharmacy Scholarship
On this day, we are commemorating the World Health Organization No Tobacco Day.
It is about what individuals and communities can do to help people quit smoking or stay tobacco-free, especially young ones. We, the future Respiratory Therapists, want to work therapeutically with people to realize that smoking is harmful to your health and as well as to everyone around you.
Respiratory therapists are the ones who treat patients with a variety of respiratory illnesses and are in a unique position to achieve smoking cessation.
This celebration of World No Tobacco Day is a good opportunity for stopping the addiction of people to smoking and for them to realize the bad or negative effects of tobacco not just in your health but in your life. It may be difficult to stop smoking at first but it is not impossible. Don’t let tobacco slowly kill you. This world can become better if you throw away tobacco from your life. Stay away from things that slowly kill inside you. Help your body to heal.
Spread love and not smoke. Stay healthy and happy with no tobacco!
The University of Perpetual Help Dr. Jose G. Tamayo Medical University College of Medical Technology, in collaboration with the Philippine National Red Cross, hosted a meaningful blood donation drive on May 7, 2022, at Target Mall, Sta. Rosa. This event brought together students, faculty, staff, and members of the community in a united effort to support a life-saving cause. Under the tagline, A Drop of Blood a Dose of Life, participants came forward to make a difference, one donation at a time.
Through this partnership, we strive to highlight the power of giving back and the impact a single act of kindness can have on countless lives. Our heartfelt thanks go out to all the donors and volunteers who joined hands with us to make this event a success. Together, we are helping to build a healthier, stronger community—proving that every drop counts.
June is a National No Smoking Month
Smoking injures your health; No-Smoking ensures your health. It is not just one cigarette, It is a lifetime of damage. Tar looks better on roads, not on your lungs. Thousands of people stop smoking everyday — by dying.
Smoking is a very bad habit and eventually, it becomes an addiction. Your lungs and the respiratory system get affected due to smoking. Apart from this, smoking affects passive smokers too. National No Smoking Month creates awareness among people about the harmful effects of smoking and motivates smokers to give up smoking. “It may be difficult to quit smoking at first, but it is not impossible.”
Stay safe, stay aware and say no to smoking today!
