Hello UP Tacloban Isko and Iska!

The University of the Philippines System persistently works towards improving the accessibility and utilization of our online resources. Hence, for this year, 2024, the UP System has renewed it's subscription to Wiley Academic Digital eBooks.

In order to fully utilize the platform, Wiley Philippines would like to conduct a presentation and training seminar to all UP Tacloban College Library users, including faculty, staff, REPS and students.


The UP Tacloban College Library, in partnership with the Teaching and Learning Resource Center (TLRC), would like to host this webinar on April 12, 2024 via Zoom platform from 9:00 - 12:00 PM with the following objectives:

1. to familiarize the UPTC library users on the platform's content and features;

2. to conduct an open discussion to clarify concerns; and

3. to reach the ultimate goal of enhancing the teaching and learning experience of the library users with Wiley's quality eBook titles.

The College Library has extended the Library Hours in order to serve you better. Starting March 1, 2024, we are open from Mondays to Saturdays on the following schedule:

Monday to Friday - 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (No Noon break)

Saturday - 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with Noon break)

The UP Visayas Tacloban College Library deeply appreciates the quick visit of Sir Rene Manlangit, the Head Librarian of UP Diliman College of Law and, currently, the PLAI President, last September 3, 2022. It was incidentally the second day of the 2022 PLAI Congress, but despite the tight schedule, Sir Manlangit still took the time to visit our College Library Department to have a quick meet and greet with the Library staff.

With the recently concluded conduct of the virtual 87th National Book Week celebration Regional Eliminations (Eastern Visayas edition), the UPVTC Technical Support Team composed of all the UPVTC Library Staffs facilitated the event via Zoom platform with high colors! All of the UPVTC Library Staffs went out of their daily library tasks just to make this event possible and performed their online duties energetically. The team was headed by Melanie Lyn M. Calope, the over-all chairman of the NBW Eastern Visayas Region, and assisted by Florabel Fumar-Banares.

The National Book Week is a yearly event organized by the Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. in partnership with the Region Librarians Council. This year, several contests are participated by the whole region (Eastern Visayas) and the regional eliminations were conducted via Zoom last Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

Yes, you read it right! With the recently concluded UPVTC Library meeting via Zoom platform, for the first time in history, our beloved UL Analiza G. Linaugo joined the complete attendance of the UPVTC Library staff today, March 2, 2021. The meeting started at around 2:00 PM with the reading of the previous minutes of the meeting. It proceeded with the presentation of library updates and report of accomplishments with certain concerns regarding the office and specific tasks. It was presided by our Head Librarian, Ms. Florabel Fumar-Bañares.


The meeting was concluded with a brief inspirational message from UL Analiza Linaugo.
