Brief GRC History

The idea for a Graduate Resource Center came from the clamor of students and alumni to have a lounge and resource center where they can meet for a case discussion. This proposal was presented to the UP Management Association Officers (the de facto Graduate Student Council). Through process, it was realized and was approved by the Chancellor’s Executive Staff in June 21, 2005.

All professional books on management and other related topics from the main library were then transferred, re-accessioned and became the initial collection. Its operation begun immediately by second semester of S.Y. 2005-2006. Through the years, with the increasing needs and demands for library services and expanding curricular offerings, the Institute of Management authorities decided to expand accommodation to higher years of B.S. Management Economics students. To date, a fulltime librarian mans the center with a student assistant to manage the growing collection and services.
