Microbio 300 Thesis

1. Admission Requirements

Applicants must have completed all required coursework, with a minimum cumulative GWA of 2.00. They must also have earned at least a grade of 1.75 in Microbio 221. In addition, applicants must have taken at least one course under the Microbiology Lab Principal Investigator prior to enrolling in Microbio 300. 

2. Application Period

Students may apply for potential mentorship as early as their first semester; however, this is strictly for advising purposes and does not constitute official mentorship. During this period, students may engage in consultation, or develop their thesis proposals. Official thesis status begins only upon enrollment in Microbio 300.

3. How to Apply

Prepare the following documents: (a) write-up of introduction, including research experiences and interests; (b) screenshot of CRS record showing the number of units enrolled or passed and cumulative GWA, if available; and (c) screenshot of CRS record showing grade in Microbio 221. The screenshots should include the name of the student. Grades in other courses should be blacked out to maintain privacy. Submit your documents to gmpenuliar@up.edu.ph using your UP email address. Address your application to Dr. Gil M. Penuliar, and use the subject line "Microbio 300 Application."
