BIO 200 Undergraduate Thesis
Admission Requirements
Applicants must be enrolled in the COB Track and must have completed at least 95 units of the program. A minimum cumulative GWA of 2.00 is required, along with a grade of at least 2.00 in either BIO 120 or BIO 150, or a minimum grade of 2.25 in BIO 123. Students currently enrolled in BIO 123 and in good class standing may also apply.
Application Period
The application period for BIO 200a takes place during the first semester of each academic year. It opens on the day of the mid-semester and closes on the last day of classes, or earlier once the lab quota is filled.
Lab Quota
The lab will only accept two (2) BIO 200a students during the second semester of each academic year. This policy aims to provide a more focused mentorship experience and help foster a more productive research environment for the students.
How to Apply
Prepare the following documents: (a) write-up of introduction, including research experiences and interests; (b) screenshot of CRS record showing the number of units passed and cumulative GWA; and (c) screenshot of CRS record showing grades in BIO 120 and 150 or BIO 123. If the student is currently enrolled in BIO 123, send a screenshot of CRS list of enrolled courses for the semester. The screenshots should include the name of the student. Grades in other courses should be blacked out to maintain privacy. Submit your documents to gmpenuliar@up.edu.ph using your UP email address. Address your application to Dr. Gil M. Penuliar, and use the subject line "BIO 200a Application."
