OVERVIEW
Exploring microbial diversity, adaptations, and applications
The Microbiology Lab conducts research on microbial physiology, antimicrobial resistance, and microbe interactions, with a focus on bacteria of medical, veterinary, and environmental importance. Our work involves the isolation and characterization of bacteria from various sources to investigate their virulence traits, stress responses, and resistance profiles. We also study lactic acid bacteria and actinomycetes for their antimicrobial potential; skin and gut bacteria to explore their responses to biotic and abiotic stressors; and apply phenotypic, molecular, and in silico approaches to understand microbial adaptation and evolution.
