My name is Jas Cruz Dellota. I am a fourth-year student at the University of the Philippines—Open University. The Bachelor of Education Studies (BES) program has provided extensive training in instructional design and the foundations of education. With this e-Portfolio, I hope to display my knowledge through my experience in our EDS 199 - Special Project course.
I am a neurodivergent learner diagnosed with ADHD, which significantly helped me throughout my journey in this course as I helped young learners similar to me. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games, and through this project, I explored and learned more about the role of games in education and gamification as a learning tool. Through this e-Portfolio, I hope you can see my passion for both gaming and learning, combining the two to create a learning experience that is both fun and educational.
Here is my ePortfolio for my final requirement: an instructional design plan that utilises gamification and the Multiple Intelligences theory. Throughout my time at UPOU, I learned a lot about the foundations of education and the importance of implementing effective instructional design. With this e-Portfolio, I aim to demonstrate my learning throughout my BES journey.
I have always aspired to create a learning experience that caters to various learning needs, primarily through methods such as gamification and learning with games, as it aligns with my hobbies and passions. As someone with ADHD, I understand the challenges of adapting to traditional teaching methods, which is why I designed a lesson plan that accommodates the diverse strengths and learning preferences of my students. They all display varying attention spans, which are often improved when exposed to various types of modalities rather than strictly traditional teaching methods such as lectures and worksheets.
With this ePortfolio, I aim to demonstrate my insights and growth throughout my BES journey, reflecting on the many theories and concepts I have studied. Most importantly, this shows my eagerness to create and foster an inclusive and motivational learning environment.
