Prof. Makoto Inoue

BIOGRAPHY

Makoto Inoue's specialty is environmental sociology, forest governance, and area studies in Kalimantan.

His career dates back to the late 1980s when he carried out three-year field work in East Kalimantan where he shared invaluable time and experience with indigenous people, especially the Kenya ethnic people.

Recently he co-edited two books: (1) Collaborative Governance of Forests (University of Tokyo Press, 2015), (2) Multi-level Forest Governance in Asia (SAGE Publications, 2015). He is currently an elected Council Member of International Association for the Study of the Commons (IASC).
